AN AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL MYTH ABOUT THE BIRTH OF BABIES
The eternal task of the moon god, Bahloo, is to create female babies and to protect their mothers; he’s also the guardian of all women.
While Boomayahmayahmul, the lizard of the woods, is responsible for the creation of male babies though Bahloo from time to time giving him assistance.
Once created, the spirits of unborn children are entrusted to Waddahgudjaelwon, the spirit of birth, who is concerned with placing them in places where they can be found by the right mothers.
