Description

According the Peruvian tradition, Apukana’s and Aukikuna’s spirits are counsellors, helpers and vigilantes of human’s actions. Aukikuna lives in a lower mountain and he controls a community or a city, while Apukuna lives in a higher mountain, from which he can control all the region; this implies that even his power of protection and of help is more powerful.
The triangle-shaped earrings, which can even recall the mountain’s shape, house of men’s guardian spirits, gets back in touch with the symbolism of the triangle in the Andes’s tradition, which believes that it is the representation of the creation and the existence, of life’s begin and of goddess’s symbol.

The jewels of the collection MITI are inspired by mythical characters or events.
